This position is hybrid; must work in the Annapolis, MD office 3 days per work and may work remotely 2 days per week. Domestic travel for planning or customer visits 1-3 times per year.

The salary range is $158,912.00 to $272,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

What YOU will do
- Provide technical direction in order to direct a team applying sound engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
- Design, develop, document, test and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Provide project management to guide team members on the management of scope, schedule and budget for engineering design activities; participate in project management and execution including Earned Value and Risk Management.
- Provide process management to guide team members on the utilization of internal design and development processes and provide assurance that the design activities are consistent with the requirements for product safety, reliability, maintainability, performance, and certification.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
- Perform bids and proposal to lead, review and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities for future Cabin Systems products.
- Perform hiring, performance assessment and management of personnel issues of engineers.
- This position supervises 3 Senior Principal Technical Project Managers and 3 Principal Technical Project Managers.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 10 years of progressive experience in a leadership role (Technical Lead, Manager, Project Manager) in the aerospace industry. In the alternative, must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 7 years of experience in a leadership role (Technical Lead, Manager, Project Manager) in the aerospace industry would be acceptable.
- Must possess at least 7 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional partners (product, program, sales, design, and operations) to deliver software products in the aviation industry.
- Must possess at least 7 years of experience with compiled (C#/++, Go, Rust) and interpreted (Python) programming languages.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience architecting, developing, and launching software-as-a-service products at tech/aerospace companies, with a focus on ROI, performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience managing teams across the globe, projects, and budgets, focused on on-time delivery and quality.
