Amida Technology Solutions is a DC-based technology company focused on data interoperability, integrity, governance, and security. Each year, Amida offers a technical internship in honor of Dr. Per K. Enge, Amida board member, strategic advisor, and close friend of the company. Dr. Enge was the Vance and Arlene Coffman Professor of Engineering at Stanford University and one of the world's foremost experts in global positioning system (GPS) technologies. His research focused on improving the capabilities of satellite navigation, and he led the deployment of two different navigation systems still widely used to this day. Dr. Enge co-founded the Stanford Center for Position, Navigation, and Time. He held over 30 patents, was a noted writer and editor, and was the recipient of numerous awards and honors including election to the National Academy of Engineers, the Air Force GPS Hall of Fame, and the prestigious GNSS Signals Award from GPS World magazine. Beyond his technical contributions, Dr. Enge was first and foremost a teacher and a mentor. He had a passion for sharing knowledge and wanted to inspire others into the field that he loved so much. He believed in giving people chances.
To honor Dr. Enge's legacy, Amida offers paid technical internships, and we are seeking a technically proficient Security Analyst Intern to assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of security controls. The role provides hands-on exposure to information security, risk management, and compliance frameworks. The intern will work closely with the security and IT teams to ensure systems and processes meet security requirements.

- Assist in reviewing, implementing, and testing security controls, including Access Control and Awareness & Training families
- Develop and document actionable procedures for security controls
- Conduct technical assessments of systems, networks, and applications to evaluate control effectiveness
- Support vulnerability assessments and analyze findings
- Help maintain and update security policies, standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to understand systems and implement secure practices
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits and compliance reviews
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and testing
- Understanding security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, endpoint protection, or IAM systems
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their security features is a plus
- Familiarity with databases and application security concepts
- Ability to read and analyze technical documentation, logs, and system configurations
