Job Overview:

The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking an experienced Project Manager III to oversee complex, enterprise-level application development initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of IT projects by managing project scope, resources, timelines, and communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical and overall project management for large-scale application development projects.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts including charters, plans, schedules, status reports, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with sponsors, business units, and technical teams to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all phases and adherence to project governance standards.
  • Provide support during major deployments, including potential weekend availability (rare).

Top Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of project management experience, particularly with large application development projects
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience with SDLC methodologies and deliverables
  • Effective stakeholder communication and relationship-building across all organizational levels
  • Familiarity with web application and front/back-end development technologies
