Role: Spectrum Engineer

Location: Miramar, FL (preferred) or Dallas, TX Hybrid (3 days onsite, flexible)
Duration: 6 months, Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wireless site surveys nationwide (approx. 20% travel) to analyze and optimize RF and Wi-Fi connectivity (2.4 5 GHz bands).
  • Configure and support Cisco and Aruba wireless networks (95% configuration work).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless, LAN, and WAN issues (switches, routers, circuits, authentication, network speeds).
  • Utilize tools such as Ekahau, Wireshark, Cisco Prime, TACACS, and Cisco ISE for spectrum analysis, backend troubleshooting, and configuration.
  • Adjust Wi-Fi and cellular coverage (e.g., antenna placement, AP power settings, QoS optimization).
  • Participate in ITIL-driven processes (change/incident management, documenting and explaining solutions to leadership and peers).
  • Provide detailed findings and recommendations through reports and presentations (PowerPoint).
  • Support a mix of operational work (60%) and project-based initiatives (40%), including warehouse technology migrations.

Top Skills & Requirements:

  • 3 6 years of hands-on wireless engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi spectrum analysis (2.4, 5 GHz bands), wireless configuration, and static/dynamic IP setup.
  • Experience with Cisco and Aruba wireless environments.
  • Proficiency in LAN/WAN troubleshooting and wireless authentication.
  • CCNA Wireless (active or expired) strongly preferred; CCNP Wireless is a plus.
  • Scripting in Python is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills able to explain technical details to leadership, peers, and business users.
  • Bachelor s degree preferred but not required.

Travel & Schedule:

  • ~20% travel across the U.S. (expenses reimbursed via FieldGlass).
  • Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, flexible start/end times).
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for projects and troubleshooting.
  • On-call rotation approx. every 10 weeks (24/7 coverage for one week).

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys fieldwork and configuration.
  • Personable, proactive, and customer-service focused.
  • Comfortable working with leadership, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Strong foundational knowledge can confidently answer basic Wi-Fi/spectrum and configuration questions without reliance on external resources.
