Role: MySQL Database Engineer / DBA
Location: Allentown, PA Onsite Work - Local Candidates Only
Length: 6 months+
Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced MySQL Database Engineer / Database Admin to support the ongoing transition to a new system. This role involves configuring a new MySQL database, performing data manipulation, and developing scripts to streamline the migration of user and student information from the existing to new system.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure a new MySQL database environment.
- Migrate confidential data from existing to new system.
- Manipulate and map data fields between systems using CSV files.
- Develop scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Excel macros) to automate and accelerate data transformation processes.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with privacy and security standards.
- Collaborate with leadership and IT to ensure smooth execution of the migration project.
Requirements:
- Experience with SQL and MySQL databases
- Proven ability to manipulate and transform large datasets across platforms.
- Experience with scripting tools (PowerShell, Excel Macros) for automation.
- Understanding of data privacy and handling of personally identifiable information (PII).
