The Central Fraud and Abuse Risk (CFAR) team is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer Compliance Analytics with a passion for UX design who will help us protect our customers and our company by eradicating fraud and service abuse across the Microsoft ecosystem. Our goal is to minimize financial and reputational harm by preventing, detecting, and addressing fraud.
As a CFAR Front-End Software Engineer - Compliance Analytics, you will act as a liaison and bridge the gap between design and engineering. Your role involves understanding the business needs of internal stakeholders and integrating that knowledge with a deep understanding of our CFAR data and platform. Delivering insights, prototypes and solutions using data and effective visualization techniques to enhance business understanding while leveraging AI advancements.
The location for this position is Puerto Rico, This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Responsibilities:
Understand User Requirements
- Collaborates with stakeholders (e.g., PMs, tech leads) to gather and refine requirements.
- Uses design tools to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that translate ideas into intuitive, visually appealing interfaces.
- Incorporates feedback through usability testing and satisfaction metrics to improve user experiences.
- Contributes to product architecture and design documents, escalating findings and helping ensure compliance with security and standards.
- Applies engineering principles to build user-centric products aligned with Microsoft Fluent UI and Security Coherence standards.
- Identifies reusable UX patterns to reduce duplication and centralize tooling.
- Crafts UX narratives to align stakeholders and contributes to the long-term CFAR UX vision.
- Reviews and refines UX requests and mocks for quality and consistency.
- Writes, tests, deploys, and debugs extensible, maintainable code and infrastructure.
- Reuses code where applicable and applies best practices for diagnosability and reliability.
- Develops prototypes based on business processes and data understanding.
- Breaks down and estimates work items, executes project and release plans, and escalates blockers.
- Conducts experiments to validate features and integrates findings into development.
- Supports safe deployment practices and understands build impacts on users and services.
- Contributes to application health through telemetry, dashboards, and incident response.
- Analyzes system metrics to inform product improvements and engineering decisions.
- Improves developer tools and automation for production and deployment.
- Ensures compliance with security, privacy, accessibility, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with leaders and contributors to translate ideas into future user experiences.
- Reports on UX satisfaction, new initiatives, and design guidance.
- Applies best practices for scalable, compliant, and high-performance solutions.
- Maintains communication across engineering teams to align on user experience goals.

Qualifications:
- Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding
- OR equivalent experience.
- E xperience with React, VS Code and state management tools like Redux and Mobx .
- Experience with Cloud with a focus around deploying UX applications via app services, CDNs, load balancers, and more. and Experience securing online services Cloud.
- Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, and mockup tools like Balsamiq, InVision, Flinto , Framer, Unity, etc.
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ year(s) relevant work experience in product or service design and/or shipping production code
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 2+ years relevant work experience in product or service design and/or shipping production code
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience with Angular or React .
- 2+ years experience with writing, testing, and debugging .NET applications.
- Experience with state management tools like Redux and Mobx .
- Experience with Cloud with a focus around deploying UX applications via app services, CDNs, load balancers, and more.
- Experience securing online services in Cloud.
- Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, or other relevant tools.
- Experience with mockup tools like Balsamiq, InVision, Flinto , Framer, Unity, etc.
- Expertise with VS Code.
- Experience using generative AI tools, configuring AI agents, and presenting findings.
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English and Spanish.
