Job Title: Part-Time Enterprise Architect
Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Enterprise Architect to provide advanced IT strategy and planning services. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining technical guidance, roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices that enable leadership to make investment decisions balancing operational demands, disruptions, and long-term strategic vision.
This role requires the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and provide high-level architecture leadership across infrastructure, security, data, and applications. The position averages 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure IT strategy and planning are aligned with the organization s mission, strategy, and processes.
- Document as-is, to-be, and future-state architectures using multiple models.
- Provide oversight of infrastructure, security, data, and application architecture.
- Translate business, information, and technical requirements into architectural blueprints.
- Develop scalable, adaptable enterprise solutions that align with evolving business needs.
- Create roadmaps for transitioning from current to future-state architectures, supporting bi-modal operations.
- Provide strategic guidance and vision to IT leadership on architecture principles and approaches.
- Participate in governance processes, solution review boards, and investment planning.
- Support cloud adoption, data architecture modernization, and application rationalization efforts.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience as an Enterprise Architect.
- Education substitutions permitted:
- Master s degree = 3 years of experience
- Bachelor s degree = 2 years of experience
- Associate s degree = 1 year of experience
- Four (4) engagements of more than three (3) months in an Enterprise Architect role.
Desired Skills
- Broad knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to view technology within a larger organizational context.
- Familiarity with IT governance and operations.
- Understanding of financial modeling for IT investments.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to explain complex issues to non-technical audiences.
- Solid project and program management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization abilities.

- Hours: Part-time, averaging 20 hours per week
