The Senior Property Product Manager manages direct programs and is responsible for all aspects of product development, pricing, coverage, and guidelines in compliance with state laws and regulations in the territories assigned and will work in conjunction with counterparts to insure the greatest level of consistency possible across all states and lines of business while prudently addressing exposures particular to geographic, regulatory, judicial and economic variances in support of corporate goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead cross functional teams in the product review process to produce rate, rule and form filings for each state and product assigned no less than annually, in response to statutory and regulatory changes, competitive position, external threats, market trends, profitability, growth and policy retention goals.

Coordinate responses to Insurance Department inquiries and requests for information on filings and communicates details of product and pricing changes to appropriate internal departments, as warranted including providing requirements to the Systems team for implementation of changes into the front and back-end policy administration systems.

Take lead on new product development including expansion into new states and product lines for both personal and commercial lines.

Provide direction to Systems, Sales, Customer Service, Underwriting, Claims, Risk Management and Finance as to the content, intent and implementation of all assigned program rules, rates and forms.

Develop requirements for data reports needed to monitor program trends and key performance indicators and will work with the Reporting team to gather data from all systems and to validate that data is, and remains, accurate for the life of the reports.

Use advanced data collection and analysis skills to assess the effectiveness of program initiatives in meeting stated goals.

Responsible for pre and post promote validation of system programming as well as ongoing periodic validation that system processes are consistent with the programming requirements provided for all assigned programs in all Policy Administration Systems currently in use to produce applications and policies in the assigned states. This responsibility includes developing programming requirements with enough detail to efficiently produce the data elements needed for proper evaluation of pricing, segmentation, overall program results, financial reporting, statistical reporting and support all known data call requirements for assigned states.

Act as the Product department point person in internal and external audits, providing all requested program documents, data and response to inquiries in addition to rating calculation details on any policy selections as requested by auditors.

Participate in onboarding and technical development of department staff.

Some travel may be required.

Overtime hours will be necessary and expected at times to meet workload requirements and consistently meet service standards.

Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

7 plus years of experience in product development/management or related field, particularly in catastrophe prone states.

Demonstrated ability to gather market intelligence and clearly communicate findings.

Recent experience managing products in any or all the following states FL, TX, SC, AZ, NV, CA, HI, NC, and/or GA preferred.

Demonstrated ability to develop new insurance products, make modifications to existing products, and train others on processes and best practices.

Demonstrate technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience in managing personal and commercial property lines.

Strong interpersonal skills and team skills and ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.

Ability to work with a team and to collaborate with others as both a leader and an individual contributor.

Must be flexible and able to be adaptable in a changing business environment.

Must possess sound, critical yet balanced decision-making skills.

The Senior Product Manager will be called upon to make presentations to groups including the Client's Executive Committee.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with advanced data creation and analysis and Guidewire Policy Center are highly preferred.

Licenses and / or Certifications:

Completion of CPCU designation or equivalent required
