Job Details

Job Title: SQL Server Database Engineer Location : Columbus, OH - Locals Experience 8+ RTTO Day 1

  • Provides recommendations and insight on data management, governance procedures, and intricacies applicable to the acquisition, maintenance, validation, and utilization of data.
  • Works with other team members to resolve any high priority issues.
  • Helps to manage GAIA application pools.
  • Designs and maintains robust software solutions for monitoring and alerting as needed.
  • Works with the team on any database performance issues. This will include code performance issues as well as infrastructure issues, sometimes using SQL Sentry.
  • Helps in monitoring / troubleshooting SQL Server Availability Groups. This will include, but not be limited to replication issues, database failovers and general troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Works with the team on certificate tracking and renewals.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong experience with relational.
  • Experience and proficiency with transact SQL.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL infrastructure, including Availability Groups.
  • In-depth knowledge of PowerShell and ETL processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Experience with internal cloud applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and bitbucket for data.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with SQL Server Availability Groups.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of transact SQL.
  • Experience with internal cloud application infrastructure.
  • Experience with overall SQL troubleshooting.
