Job Description:
Pay Range: $100.44hr - $103.44hr
- The Sr. Data Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data architectures, pipelines, and analytics solutions that support business intelligence and decision-making.
- The role ensures the quality, security, and reliability of data systems and analytics applications across the organization.
- The Sr. Data Engineer also leads initiatives to optimize ETL/ELT processes, develop operational data stores, data marts, and supports data analytics teams by providing guidance, troubleshooting, and best practices in data handling.
- Create data management strategies to support business intelligence efforts.
- Build and maintain data architecture to support enterprise data strategy.
- Design logical data models and implement physical database structures.
- Ensure data quality, security, and reliability across all analytics systems.
- Construct and implement operational data stores and data marts.
- Provide support for deployed data applications and analytical models.
- Design, develop, and maintain real-time and batch ETL/ELT processes.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, readability, and maintainability.
- Build technical requirements for respective domains and applications.
- Augment data pipelines from raw OLTP databases to structured data solutions.
- Conduct design reviews of code, tables, and databases within the data warehouse architecture.
- Document data flow diagrams, security access, data quality, and availability.
- Develop and maintain query libraries to support recurring data requests.
- Lead data analysis, reporting, and visualization efforts for departmental performance indicators.
- Mentor and assist less experienced staff in data analysis and visualization.
- Translate departmental scenarios and requirements into technical specifications.
- Identify best practices in data analysis and visualization and lead their implementation.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to support business goals.
- Develop training resources and deliver training to stakeholders.
- Lead new processes, standards, and operational plans at the department level.
- Participate in leadership initiatives and System-wide projects as required.
- Bachelor s degree in a related field with 7 years of relevant experience, or Master s degree with 5 years of experience.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience as a Data Engineer or equivalent.
- Intermediate knowledge of data warehouse architectures, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
- Experience with scripting languages and big data tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of data security, privacy regulations, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Data analysis and visualization (SQL, SQL Server, Tableau, ACL, PowerBI).
- Microsoft Office 365 proficiency (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to drive results, manage complexity, and collaborate effectively.
- Strong relationship-building and customer focus skills.
- Project management and business acumen.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in a related field.
- Related certifications, active participation in industry organizations, or advanced degrees preferred.
