Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Project Manager/Scrum Master to spearhead the implementation of critical healthcare registries at Banner Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both project management and Agile methodologies, with specific expertise in healthcare data and registry implementations. This role will focus on collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to manage the complex, end-to-end implementation of over 20 registries, including GWTG Stroke, NSQIP, cardiology registries, and Arizona-specific healthcare registries. The ultimate goal is to enhance patient care quality and ensure regulatory compliance through effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Lead the entire project lifecycle for healthcare registry systems, from initial planning through to go-live and support.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation strategies, and budget management.
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams, including clinical staff, IT developers, data analysts, and compliance specialists.
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Manage the implementation of Arizona-specific registry requirements to ensure state compliance.
Healthcare Registry Expertise
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams to define and document registry data requirements and workflows.
- Oversee data validation, quality assurance, and reporting processes.
- Coordinate with external registry organizations for certification and auditing as needed.
- Support training initiatives for clinical staff to ensure proper data collection and system usage.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and clinical stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication between internal teams and external registry organizations.
- Present regular project status updates to executive leadership and steering committees.
- Manage relationships with vendors and coordinate third-party integrations.
Scrum Master Duties
- Facilitate all key Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Act as a coach and mentor for development teams, promoting and enforcing Agile methodologies and best practices.
- Actively work to remove impediments and blockers to maximize team productivity.
- Collaborate with product owners to maintain and refine the product and sprint backlogs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the development teams while ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework and adapting to healthcare regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Implementation Manager for healthcare registries or similar complex healthcare IT projects.
- Experience with healthcare data, clinical workflows, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in the Scrum Master role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong commitment to enhancing patient care quality through effective technology implementation.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience with specific registries such as GWTG Stroke or NSQIP.
- Familiarity with the healthcare landscape in Arizona.
