The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
  • Data Risk Management is an organizational function dedicated to the identification and mitigation of data risk across all stages of the data lifecycle supported by sustainable data risk management processes and controls. The function is comprised of Data Risk Governance and Reporting, and Data Risk Controls and Validation.
  • Being a member of the Aligned Data Risk Management team, you will be part of the broader Data Risk Controls and Validation group that provides advice and guidance to the first line of defense to support their understanding and compliance with Data Risk Management standards, supported by testing of the first line.
  • The Aligned Data Risk Management team is responsible for assessing, validating, and supervis ing the first line's proper management of data risk throughout the data lifecycle. The team also serves as the primary liaison between the first line of defense, which includes the Data Stewards, and the broader Data Risk Management team. The Aligned Data Risk Management team also engages with other cross-organizational control functions in support of data risk.


Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on validation and testing for in-scope business data elements and related data assets, prioritizing the use of risk-based criteria through Data Risk Assessments.
  • Assess and supervise residual data risk resulting from inherent risk migrated by preventative and detective data controls.
  • Provide strategic and proactive consultation in identifying data risk exposures and developing mitigation plans.
  • Document and report potential findings due to non-compliance with Data Risk Management Standards.
  • Provide advice, mentorship , and support to the first line of defense in their understanding and compliance with Data Risk Management Standards.
  • Review and approve Data Risk Management deliverables from the first line.
  • Supervise metrics to provide an early warning signal of grow ing risk exposure and allow for preventive actions.
  • Collaborate and work with other aligned risk management functions in support of managing data risk.
  • Partner with industry leaders and associations to define data management and adopt/apply standard processes at DTCC.

Additional Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in financial services industry in a control function.
  • Knowledge of the securities markets, post-trade processing, and clearing and settlement infrastructure preferred.
  • A general understanding of the three lines of defense model and control function responsibilities.
  • Exposure to data management, data quality, data governance, or data stewardship in financial services.
  • A bachelor's degree.


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Our Risk Management teams work to protect the safety and soundness of our systems and are responsible for identifying, managing, measuring and mitigating a spectrum of key risk types including credit, market, liquidity, systemic, operational and technology in all existing and new products, activities, processes and systems.
