Description
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development, implementation, and optimization of technical systems and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking and Linux skills, with a focus on troubleshooting, system improvement, and automation.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement technical systems and products to optimize performance and functionality.
Evaluate engineering designs and recommend improvements to enhance product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve production software issues, ensuring system reliability.
Develop monitoring tools and solutions to maintain system performance.
Create and enforce standards and procedures for assessing product quality and release readiness.
Collaborate with QA and software engineers to maintain continuous delivery processes.
Automate software deployments using tools like Puppet, Chef, and Ansible to streamline operations.
Manage applications in both virtual and cloud infrastructures, including OpenStack.
Build and maintain version control strategies using GitHub, including branching and tagging.
Utilize container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to enhance system scalability.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
Strong networking skills, including experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies.
Proficiency in Linux systems and troubleshooting techniques.
Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages for system optimization.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and their integration into development workflows.
Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
Strong understanding of data management and automation processes.
Ability to work effectively with open-source tools and technologies.
