The Low-Code BPM/RPA Platform Tester provides end-to-end quality assurance across enterprise business workflows, low-code applications, and robotic process automations built on Pega, Appian, Microsoft Power Platform, and UiPath. The tester ensures that process logic, automation sequences, and data flows perform as intended and meet business, functional, and compliance requirements.

This role operates within an Agile/DevSecOps delivery framework, collaborating with developers, RPA engineers, and business analysts to validate each sprint increment, ensure continuous improvement, and uphold stringent quality and compliance standards expected in federal environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review process models, Appian/Pega workflows, PowerApps forms, and UiPath automation flows to design detailed test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, integration, and regression testing for low-code workflows and robotic automations.
  • Validate workflow logic, automation triggers, and human-bot handoffs across BPM and RPA platforms.
  • Conduct data validation between front-end apps (PowerApps) and backend databases or APIs.
  • Perform API and connector testing between Pega/Appian and other enterprise systems using tools such as Postman or Power Automate connectors.
  • Log, prioritize, and track defects in JIRA or Azure DevOps, coordinating re-tests after developer fixes.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scripts and assisting business stakeholders in validation.
  • Document test execution results, maintain traceability matrices, and prepare sprint-level test summary reports.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to provide QA feedback and improve test efficiency.

Required Skills

  • 3 6 years of software QA/testing experience, including at least 2 years testing in low-code or automation environments.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
    • Pega workflow rule validation, case management, and data page testing.
    • Appian process model testing, task assignment logic, and interface validation.
    • Microsoft PowerApps / Power Automate flow validation, form logic, and connector testing.
    • UiPath validation of automation workflows, log inspection, and data reconciliation.
  • Understanding of BPM lifecycle, automation orchestration, and RPA governance.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent for test and defect management.
  • Knowledge of SQL for backend data verification and Postman for API testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools such as Git.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience testing cross-platform integrations (e.g., UiPath bots triggered by Appian or Power Automate workflows).
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted environments (Azure, AWS) and security testing principles for low-code apps.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Appian Test Framework.
  • ISTQB, UiPath Certified Professional, or Appian/Pega QA certifications (preferred).
