Job Details

We are seeking a data-driven, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative Engineering Metrics Analyst to strengthen visibility into engineering performance and promote best-in-class delivery practices. This role will focus on building Python-based metrics pipelines from JIRA, partnering closely with engineering leaders to interpret insights, and driving continuous improvement across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts to extract, transform, and visualize data from JIRA and other engineering tools.
  • Build and manage metrics dashboards highlighting team velocity, cycle time, backlog health, work in progress, and other engineering KPIs.
  • Partner with engineering leads to assess adherence to ways of working and identify root causes for deviations.
  • Convert data insights into actionable recommendations that advance engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with program management and data engineering teams to align on metrics definitions, standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, provide data-driven insights, and contribute to quarterly business reviews with meaningful narratives.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience using JIRA APIs and developing custom reports or dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and modern engineering workflows.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, especially in cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Plotly, etc.) is a plus.
  • Background in technical program management, engineering operations, or data analytics preferred.
