Job Details
Microsoft is a company where passionate innovators come to collaborate, envision what can be and take their careers further. This is a world of more possibilities, more innovation, more openness, and the sky is the limit thinking in a cloud-enabled world.
Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.
Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.
The Microsoft Fabric team is building the next-generation data platform to power AI-driven insights at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Fabric Platform team, you will play a key role in enabling workloads to integrate seamlessly with the Fabric ecosystem through a scalable Resource Manager, robust SDKs, and fully automated infrastructure provisioning. You'll work on foundational platform components that connect directly with OneLake, Azure, and Microsoft's expanding AI stack.
We're looking to hire Senior Software Engineers who excel at building high-scale, developer-friendly platforms, with strong systems-level expertise and hands-on development experience. You should be passionate about crafting reusable, multi-tenant infrastructure that powers rich experiences across data, analytics, and machine learning workloads.
We do not just value differences or different perspectives. We seek them out and invite them in so we can tap into the collective power of everyone in the company. As a result, our customers are better served.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement features for a scalable Resource Manager to support the onboarding and lifecycle management of workload-specific resources in Microsoft Fabric.
Build developer-friendly SDKs and automation tools that enable teams to provision and manage infrastructure aligned with security, compliance, and governance standards.
Automate deployment workflows that scale across regions, sovereign clouds (e.g., government cloud), and compliance boundaries.
Collaborate with teams across AI, OneLake, and data engineering to ensure infrastructure supports high-performance analytics and machine learning workloads.
Drive improvements in monitoring, telemetry, and alerting to ensure platform health, reliability, and operational transparency.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and operational readiness reviews to uphold quality and align with Microsoft's Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL).
Author and maintain internal documentation, onboarding guides, and best practices to support platform scalability and ease of adoption.
