Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to evaluate and optimize wireless network performance, ensuring reliable connectivity for users across the organization. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and improving network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive wireless network assessment, identifying areas with poor reception and connectivity issues.
Analyze and troubleshoot wireless controllers to resolve ongoing disconnection problems for students and faculty.
Adjust access point settings to enhance coverage and performance in areas with weak signals.
Collaborate with the team to implement effective solutions for improving wireless network reliability.
Provide recommendations for optimizing network configurations and improving overall system performance.
Utilize expertise in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Cisco technologies to support network improvements.
Maintain and upgrade network security systems, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA.
Perform testing and validation of network adjustments to ensure seamless connectivity.
Support data center operations by implementing backup technologies and improving infrastructure.
Document network changes and provide detailed reports on troubleshooting outcomes.
Requirements
Proven experience with wireless network troubleshooting and optimization.
Strong knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Cisco technologies.
Hands-on experience with Checkpoint and Cisco ASA security systems.
Familiarity with access points and wireless controllers, including configuration and performance improvements.
Ability to perform detailed assessments and provide actionable recommendations.
Experience with backup technologies and data center operations.
Proficient in AB testing for validating network adjustments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
