Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Intern Software Engineer (Full Stack). In this role, you will contribute to the development of full-stack web and software applications that support real-world mission systems and internal tools. You will be responsible for assisting in designing front-end user interfaces, building back-end APIs and services, and integrating data sources. You may also participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging tasks to ensure high-quality deliverables.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, React.js or Angular, and backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java. Familiarity with Git, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and RESTful API design is also beneficial.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Experience or coursework in both front-end and back-end software development

Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#

Understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, React, Angular, or Vue

Knowledge of server-side technologies or frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express, Django, Spring Boot)

Experience with version control systems such as Git

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail


Must be available for a Summer 2026 internship (typically 10-12 weeks)

This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Desired skills

Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js

Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL services

Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase)

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Understanding of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD

Experience with unit testing and/or automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, PyTest)

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Personal or academic projects demonstrating full-stack development

Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies

Strong communication and technical documentation skills

Passion for innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $29,598 - $64,168. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
