Sr. Network Implementation Engineer

W2 Only.  NO C2C / CORP-CORP / 1099 / 3RD PARTY CANDIDATES.                                                      Client:  A major St. Louis based global corporation and a leader in their industry operating over 350 manufacturing facilities with annual revenue earning over $19 B and employing over 15,000.

Overview:
This position will perform engineering design, review, and implementation for capital expenditure and local factory projects relating to network infrastructure at various factory locations with focus on technology migration of network infrastructure from a Cisco design to an HPE Aruba wireless first design and integration of ThousandEyes and AppDynamics. Act as a technical resource to provide technical network assistance, support, and dissemination of technical information regarding production LANs. This position will be responsible for researching, proposing, and implementing new LAN technologies at the operating factories.

Role:

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct projects relating to the plant local area network .
• Provide strategic direction in the area of local area networks and related technologies for all plant locations.
• Conceive, plan, and conduct research in problem areas of the existing Local Area Networks at the plants, of considerable scope and complexity.
• Seek out and apply method, procedure, practice, and technology to improve performance level and efficiency of the plant LAN/WAN and associated equipment.
• Interact and consult with external vendors, operations and plant personnel to obtain input required to provide a customer accepted product.
• Work with representatives of corporate and plant engineering, maintenance, and LGO to determine sound solutions to opportunities related to the plant local area networks.
• Act as a technical expert and resource to the Factories, answering questions and troubleshooting difficult LAN/WAN issues.
• Conduct wireless surveys and makes recommendations for optimization of factory wireless infrastructure.
• Provide On-Call Support for factory production after normal business hours on a rotation.
• Act as the primary contact for all issues related to the local area networks and associated technologies for internal and external entities outside of engineering.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in CISCO/HPE Aruba routers and switches.
• Perform tasks related to industrial networking.
• Support the current LAN/WAN configurations at each factory while adhering and following standards and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation for factory support after business hours.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in network engineering
• Certification(s): CCNA / CCNP / HPE Aruba certifications are a plus.
• 5+ years in technology field in two or more of the following:

Cisco switches / routers / industrial switching
HPE Aruba switches / routers / industrial switching
Firewalls CheckPoint / Fortinet / Cisco
Wireless LAN controllers Cisco / HPE Aruba
Mobile solutions
Microwave/laser bridges
LAN Network Monitoring devices such as Solarwinds Orion / Pingdom / Cisco DNA Center / Aruba Central / ThousandEyes / Grafana / NetBrain
ServiceNow ITSM

• Technical competency in CISCO/HPE Aruba routers and switches configuration and support.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet network troubleshooting tools and methodologies.
• LAN topology design, configuration, and support.
• VLAN architecture design, configuration, and support.
• CISCO/HPE Aruba wireless networks, industrial facility networks, and implementation of all of the above.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to client manufacturing facilities.
