Product Design Engineer III

Job Description:
Candidate will provide design support for iPad products including:

• Using 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods.
• Developing deep technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams' design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems.
• Collaborating with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability.
• Some of the skills client exercises and develop regularly: tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, design for high volume manufacturability and assembly, prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, statistical process control.

Key Qualifications:

• High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion and creativity.
• Design intelligence: mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning, attention to detail.
• Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics.
• Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal. Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorms.
• 3D CAD experience with any program. 2D drafting and GD&T a plus.
• Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing a plus.
• Experience designing mechanical components for mass production a plus - specifically molded, formed, and machined parts.
• 2 plus years of Mechanical Design industry experience.

Education:

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Schedule Notes:

• Hybrid schedule, working 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Remote - Monday / Friday, Client Product Design Engineer experience will be shortlisted first as this is highest priority.

Pay Range: $65- $68/hr W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
