Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: Hybrid (2 days/week in office)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic Scrum Master with strong experience in driving Agile delivery, optimizing DevSecOps practices, and aligning development efforts with cybersecurity and compliance standards. This role will play a critical part in enabling secure, high-performance software delivery by facilitating agile processes, tracking key performance indicators, and coordinating closely with cybersecurity, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, product owners, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders
- Guide Agile teams through Scrum ceremonies and best practices
- Work closely with security teams to integrate secure development practices into the SDLC
- Promote early detection and resolution of vulnerabilities through threat modeling, security testing, and code review cycles
- Drive awareness of cybersecurity best practices within Agile teams
- Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to streamline and secure CI/CD pipelines
- Promote automation, continuous testing, and shift-left security strategies
- Ensure transparency through effective communication and status reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, LeSS)
- Experience working in DevOps/DevSecOps environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure SDLC, and vulnerability management
- Proficient in tools like Jira, Confluence, or equivalent project management platforms
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or SAFe certification
- Working knowledge of cloud security practices (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience aligning with compliance standards like SOC2, HIPAA, or ISO27001
- Background in software development or information security a plus
