Position: GIS and Website Developer

Duration: 6- Months

Location: - Remote / Jackson, MS

Job Overview:

  • The GIS and Website Developer will provide technical support for geospatial and web-based projects under the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce (OMPW), as outlined by MS Code 41-123-1 (2023). This role is critical in visualizing, analyzing, and disseminating data regarding physician distribution and workforce needs across Mississippi.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain dynamic GIS maps to display physician workforce shortages and underserved areas.
  • Develop a responsive, accessible website for OMPW.
  • Embed real-time, interactive geospatial dashboards with workforce data.
  • Build tools for generating custom reports (by region, specialty, indicators).
  • Migrate existing website and GIS services to Azure and ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
  • Upgrade existing applications using the ESRI JavaScript SDK and Calcite Design System.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain large datasets across subject matters using cloud data tools (lakes, warehouses, catalogs).
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with statutory mandates for public and government reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and meet deadlines.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT and data-related project timelines.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Strong website development background, especially with Microsoft technologies
  • Expertise in data visualization and dashboard creation
  • Familiarity with Mississippi government systems and/or physician workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with governmental data modernization initiatives
  • Project management experience in public health or state government
  • Previous experience working with healthcare workforce or physician licensure data

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
