Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Warren, MI that is seeking a Senior Process Engineer - Machine Control & Robotics responsible for Program Execution for Machine Controls and Robotics. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
* Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts
* Manage deliveries to program timing milestones
* Provide project report outs to senior management.
* Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
* Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all customers/plants
* Provide technical direction to less experienced controls engineers
* Provide technical expertise on the design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch, and continuous improvement of the Plant Floor systems (PFS)
* Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
* Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
* Travel as required

The Senior Process Engineer will start on 1st shift and then will switch to off-shifts if needed. They are required to be flexible. 1st shift is 7am to 330pm; 2nd shift is 3pm to 1130pm; 3rd shift is 11pm to 730am.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree with major in Engineering or equivalent experience/training
* 5-7 years of experience as a controls/robotics engineer)
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment
* Basic understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process
* Experience in PLC and HMI programming, Ethernet and/or Devicenet networks
* Knowledge of servo motors, motion control and drives
* Experience in Fanuc robot's setup and programming
* Problem solving, analytical, interpersonal and communications skills required
* Ability to design and trouble shoot electrical controls systems
* Excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
* Ability to manage multiple challenging projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
* Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
* Proven ability in project management skills
* Multiple different manufacturing controls and/or robotics assignments with successful individual achievements
* Ability to use computer, interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and learn new systems
* Self -motivated and ability to multitask
* General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus

Preferred Skills:
* Demonstrated understanding of plant floor work
* Understanding of GMS and 4 walls within the site or program
* Prior work experience as controls engineers in the automotive field

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
