Vaco has been working with a Scottsdale based client to identify a skilled Sitecore Expert to assist in assess, optimize and modernize their public-facing website hosted on the Sitecore CMS platform. This role involves close collaboration with internal business units to identify and resolve website issues, enhance SEO, and improve overall site performance. In this role, you will fully leverage Sitecore features (e.g. personalization, workflows), resolve critical site issues (e.g. SEO, broken links, accessibility), prepare for a possible headless CMS migration, and train internal teams. This Sitecore initiative is part of a broader effort to future-proof our web infrastructure, optimize content management, and upgrade our tech stack. Candidates will play a key role in enabling this next generation of digital experience

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the current Sitecore website to identify technical and content-related improvements.
- Address foundational/operational improvements such as broken links, crawlability, UX, and Google indexing.
- Improve load speed with techniques such as Sitecore caching (HTML, media, prefetch) and CDN optimization.
- Optimize mobile responsiveness via responsive templates and layout service configuration.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and implement site updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Sitecore-related issues and content errors.
- Improve compliance & content quality
- Ensure configuration of all alt tags, semantic headings, and keyboard navigation for screen reader support.
- Audit and refresh content >1 year old; archive ROT (redundant, outdated, trivial).
- Restructure menus and IA for regional relevance (US vs. Canada vs. Caribbean), using Sitecore Item Buckets and tags to manage content across locales.
- Optimize pages for SEO and improve site speed and performance.
- Resolve SEO blockers (e.g. canonical tags, robots.txt, metadata, sitemap setup)
- Customize and enhance website functionality using JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.
- Ensure best practices are followed for usability, accessibility, and web standards.
- Ensure Accessibility (AODA/WCAG 2.1 AA compliance).
Sitecore Certification & Expertise
- Certified in Sitecore (Developer, Architect, or Marketing specialization).
- Expert in Sitecore XP: personalization, marketing automation, EXM, analytics, workflows, templates.
- 5+ years in Sitecore (or similar CMS) transformation projects.
- Experience optimizing enterprise sites: speed, SEO, accessibility, structure.
- Uses caching strategies, media optimization, CDN setup to improve speed.
- Proficient in SEO: sitemaps, indexing issues, metadata, canonicalization.
- Accessibility (A11y)
- Familiar with WCAG 2.1 tools like Axe, WAVE; can implement changes for AODA/ADA compliance.
- Deep knowledge of EXM, Marketing Control Panel, Goals, Campaigns, Automation Plans.
- Able to design persona journeys using profile cards and pattern cards.
- Skilled in configuring multivariate tests, engagement scoring, and outcomes tracking.
- Familiar with Sitecore Headless (JSS) and comparisons with AEM, Contentful, Strapi. Can advise on future proof content models and APIs.
