Job Details

Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer – Linux

Location: Hybrid to Cincinnati, OH (local candidates preferred)
Rate: $60 – $65 per hour (W2 only, NO C2C)
Screening: Tech screen + video prescreen required
Experience Level: 3–5 years minimum in a medium-to-large enterprise environment
Industry Bonus: Retail experience highly preferred

Job Summary:
We are seeking a self-driven Infrastructure Engineer – Linux to support daily operational Linux system tasks and backfill an FTE on the infrastructure team. This role requires hands-on administration experience in enterprise environments with a strong focus on automation and support. You’ll work cross-functionally with development, product, business, and vendor teams in a hybrid setup with occasional travel to the Blue Ash Technical Center.

Top Skills Required:

  • Linux Administration

  • Ansible or comparable automation tool experience

  • VMware, Shell scripting

  • Bonus: AIX, GPFS/Storage Scale, cloud experience (Azure/GCP)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily Linux system administration, ensuring uptime, performance, and security

  • Support and maintain automation tools (Ansible, Shell scripting)

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in real time

  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to support infrastructure changes

  • Apply and document security best practices

  • Maintain system documentation and configurations

  • Participate in risk mitigation and provide escalation support during deployments
