Description:
Position: RF Microwave Design Engineer

Location: Camarillo, CA

About the Role

Client is looking for an RF Microwave Design Engineer and help develop mission-critical solutions that support global security. You'll work on cutting-edge RF systems in a Navy development facility, contributing to the design, analysis, and testing of advanced electronic warfare technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF systems aligned with DoDAF architecture and USMC operational scenarios
  • Conduct performance and data analysis to validate system functionality
  • Support integration and testing of firmware, software, and hardware
  • Assist in creating system architecture and design documentation (power, RF, and functional block diagrams)
  • Evaluate thermal, safety, and reliability aspects of systems
  • Recommend COTS components based on performance, SWaP constraints, and system requirements
  • Prototype and test subsystems to assess design feasibility
  • Develop and execute Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs)
  • Review electro-mechanical drawings and support troubleshooting of system issues
  • Operate systems and RF test equipment to validate performance against requirements
  • Contribute to technical documentation including manuals, procedures, and training materials
  • Support configuration management and system change processes

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience (or Master's degree with 0 years' experience)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or similar tools
  • Hands-on experience with RF components and systems
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must work on-site at Navy development facility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HFSS and Keysight ADS software
  • Background in digital signal processing and radar waveforms (ES/EA)
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles
  • Familiarity with Agile development and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, and component selection
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Experience with RF receivers, jamming systems, SDRs, and encryption
  • Concurrent hardware/software development experience
  • Exposure to military aircraft avionics and stores
  • Understanding of military standards and aircraft safety disciplines
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
