Description
SAIC is seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer for our North Charleston, SC location.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.) to meet business requirements
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies
- Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data
- Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS services and industry best practices
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system availability and address incidents
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Require at least one: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, etc.)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- 3+ years of experience in cloud-based system design, with a strong focus on security
Desired:
- Experience moving systems from on-premise environments to cloud-based hosting
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch
- Experience with Windows and Linux based Operating Systems
- Database experience (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of DoD STIGs
