Description
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network architecture for shipboard C5ISR systems, ensuring robust and secure communication networks in the USCG Polar Security Cutter.
Work is performed on site in Pascagoula, MS.
This position is contingent upon award news, expected in Winter 2025.
Duties:
Design and implement network architecture for shipboard C5ISR systems
Ensure secure and reliable shipboard communication networks design
Coordinate with Bollinger, USCG stakeholders and OEM vendors for network requirements
Conduct network performance analysis and optimization
Support the development and review of network-related documentation and design reviews

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor in Science in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related field
Five (5) years of Network Engineering experience and extensive knowledge C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR shipboard systems and architecture

Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of all subject areas in Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
Proficiency in network architecture design and implementation
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
Ability to conduct network performance analysis and optimization
Knowledge of and experience with evaluating networking functional requirements
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Vendor operating system certification such as Microsoft, Cisco, RedHat, or Linux
Experience supporting projects in a Shipyard environment
Required Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance
Required Certification:
Cybersecurity Workforce Level II cert i.e. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP
Or must be willing to obtain/pass certification within 90 days of hire
