Job Title: Cisco Collaboration Engineer
Number of Roles: 1
Duration: 12 Months likely to extend
Job Summary:
Provide technical expertise in the implementation, and support of Cisco Collaboration solutions including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection (CUC), Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) and Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX). The site has an aging Avaya G3SI PBX that needs to be replaced with a Cisco Collaboration Solution. The solution will include the Main Treatment Facility (MTF) and Eleven (11) Remote sites. Some of the remote sites have multiple buildings that will be part of the project. The MTF will have approximately five thousand (5000) new VoIP phones and five hundred (500) analog devices (analog fax machines, elevator phones, security systems, etc). The remote sites will have approximately eighteen hundred (1800) new VoIP phones and three hundred and fourteen (314) analog devices (analog fax machines, elevator phones, security systems, etc). The candidate will be responsible for migrating from the old PBX to the new Cisco Voice Solution and provide on going support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deployment & Implementation
    • Assis the Senior Implementation Engineer on the rollout of Cisco Collaboration solutions
    • Assist the Senior Implementation Engineer on Configuring call routing, dial plans, voice gateways, and SIP trunks.
  • Maintenance & Support
    • Monitor and troubleshoot UC systems and resolve complex collaboration issues.
    • Perform software upgrades, patching, and regular system maintenance.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Ensure solutions adhere to organizational security policies and compliance standards.
    • Implement encryption, authentication, and secure communication protocols.
  • Documentation & Training
    • Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams.
    • Provide training to users and Tier 1/2 support teams.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with network, security, and service desk teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Participate in cross-functional IT projects and provide subject matter expertise.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with Cisco Collaboration technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the configuration, and management of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection (CUC), and Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX).
  • Strong understanding of SIP, H.323, and VoIP technologies.
  • Experience with Analog gateways
  • Knowledge of QoS, WAN/LAN network integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCIE Collaboration, CCNP Collaboration) preferred.
  • Experience in DoD Space
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python scripts).
  • Understanding of network protocols and firewalls as they relate to collaboration tools.
  • Experience with 66 block and 110 blocks for analog connections Work Environment:
  • On-site work in San Diego, CA.
