Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and high-performance data solutions using Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in enterprise Data Warehousing, excellent knowledge of cloud data platforms, and proven expertise in data architecture best practices. Experience in the banking or financial services domain is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of Snowflake-based data warehousing and analytics solutions.
- Design scalable data ingestion pipelines (batch and real-time) using tools like Snowpipe, Airflow, or third-party ETL platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DBT).
- Define and enforce data governance, security, and data modeling standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data models and pipelines.
- Migrate legacy DW systems (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server) to Snowflake.
- Implement best practices for performance tuning, cost optimization, and data sharing within Snowflake.
- Guide junior engineers and analysts on data development standards and Snowflake capabilities.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate Snowflake within CI/CD pipelines and manage infrastructure as code.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and data architecture.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake including:
- Snowflake architecture & performance optimization
- Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks
- Data Sharing & Cloning
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Python, or Scala.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong background in Dimensional Data Modeling and Data Vault modeling.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and banking data standards.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Banking/Finance industry experience familiarity with data structures, regulatory compliance, and reporting needs.
- Experience with Kafka, Fivetran, or Matillion.
- Knowledge of Data Catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra) and data lineage frameworks.
- Snowflake certifications such as:
- SnowPro Core Certification
- SnowPro Advanced Architect Certification
Educational Background
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
