Role: Technical Project Manager

Location: Remote

Duration: 12+ Months

Primary Focus: Project Management within the Microsoft Ecosystem

The core requirement is for a project manager who has a proven track record of leading initiatives where Microsoft technologies are the central component. The emphasis on "3-5 Microsoft and AI projects" with significant budgets ($2-5MM) and team sizes (10-15 members) indicates a need for experience in complex, enterprise-level environments.

Key Areas of "Microsoft Experience":

  • Understanding Microsoft's Business and Licensing Models: This is a critical and explicitly stated need. The ideal candidate will have experience with the complexities of Microsoft's various licensing agreements (e.g., Enterprise Agreements, MPSA, CSP). This knowledge is vital for project planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance. They should be able to "hold conversations" and understand the implications of different licensing choices on a project's scope and financials.
  • Managing Microsoft Product Enhancements and Lifecycles: The hiring manager's stress on "enhancements" and "cycle structures" points to a need for a PM who has managed projects that involve customizing, upgrading, or integrating Microsoft products. This could include:
    • Azure: Experience with projects involving Azure infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), data services (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics), or AI/ML services (Azure Machine Learning). While the AI team is strong, the PM needs to understand the Azure platform where these services run.
    • Microsoft 365/Office 365: Projects related to the deployment or enhancement of SharePoint Online, Teams, or other M365 applications.
    • Dynamics 365: Experience managing CRM or ERP projects using Microsoft's business applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's Development and Project Management Tools: The mention of Azure DevOps (ADO) is significant. A strong candidate will have hands-on experience using ADO for sprint planning, backlog management, and tracking work items, even in a hybrid Agile environment. This complements the primary project management tool, ServiceNow.
  • Strong background in organizational change management (OCM) can guide teams through change adoption.
  • Infra and Application Management: Should understand enterprise collaboration tools, cloud platforms, infrastructure (networks, servers, storage), and enterprise app ecosystems not to the level of an engineer, but enough to ask the right questions.
