SAP FICO Consultant (10+ Years, S/4HANA Greenfield) Job Description

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced SAP FICO Consultant with 10+ years of deep expertise in Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO), including multiple full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementations. The ideal candidate possesses strong business process knowledge, proven hands-on configuration skills, exceptional project leadership, and the ability to translate business requirements into optimal SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation projects, from design to deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and SAP Activate methodology.
• Conduct requirements workshops, document as-is and to-be business processes, perform gap analysis, and propose SAP-based financial solutions.
• Design, configure, and test SAP FI and CO modules: GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and more.
• Oversee data migration activities including data mapping, cleansing, and validation in collaboration with technical teams.
• Integrate SAP FICO with other modules (MM, SD, PP, HR, PS, etc.) for seamless end-to-end business processes.
• Prepare test plans and scripts; perform and lead user acceptance testing.
• Deliver user training, cutover planning, and hypercare support post go-live.
• Act as the primary contact for stakeholders, managing expectations and status reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide ongoing support for month-end/year-end closings, financial consolidation, and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement identify optimization opportunities within finance processes and SAP system usage.
• Ensure compliance with internal/external audit standards, SOX, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in SAP FICO, including at least two full-cycle S/4HANA Greenfield implementations.
• Expert level knowledge of core FI and CO concepts: General Ledger, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost/Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Integration Points.
• Experience designing and implementing SAP Fiori apps and leveraging S/4HANA innovations.
• Strong understanding of business processes in finance, accounting, and controlling, especially as related to SAP digital transformation.
• Proven leadership skills track record leading large, cross-functional project teams and working with global stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IT, or related field.
• Preferred: Accounting, CPA, or SAP certifications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with international rollouts, localization (e.g., tax, legal compliance), and multi-currency environments.
• Exposure to Central Finance, FSCM, Treasury, Revenue Accounting (RAR), and intercompany processes.
• Familiarity with integration projects (EDI, third-party systems), cloud migrations, and post go-live support.
• Consulting experience with Big 4 or leading systems integrators is a plus.
