Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is responsible for configuring, deploying, and supporting end-user devices while ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of networking, and the ability to manage multiple deployments simultaneously.

We are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is responsible for configuring, deploying, and supporting end-user devices while ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of networking, and the ability to manage multiple deployments simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, image, and prepare laptops and desktops for deployment to end users.
- Ensure each device is properly tagged, labeled, and documented before shipping.
- Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure timely delivery of approximately 5 devices per week.
- Follow up with customers after deployment to confirm successful setup and resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of device configurations, asset tags, and shipping details.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues as needed.
- Ensure devices are connected to the network and meet company security standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to improve deployment processes and meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or service desk roles.
- Strong understanding of networking and connectivity for device setup.
- Experience with device imaging and configuration (Windows OS, common enterprise tools).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and endpoint management tools.
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management.
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft) are a plus.
Performance Expectations
- Successfully configure and ship 5 devices per week.
- Maintain accurate and timely follow-up with customers post-deployment.
- Ensure 100% compliance with labeling, tagging, and documentation standards.
