Role: Expert Systems Architect DURATION: 30 Months LOCATION: Albany, NY Hybrid

This project is to modernize aging Tax systems into new technologies including CARTS, Correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Systems Architect- Defines the architecture of a computerized system (i.e., a system composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill certain requirement, including a breakdown of the system into components, the component interactions and interfaces (including with the environment, especially the user), and the technologies and resources to be used in the design.
  • Expert- 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
  • 84 months experience installing and configuring z/OS DB2 V12 or higher on an IBM z/OS mainframe.
  • 84 months experience using SMP/E for installing and maintaining DB2 for z/OS.
  • 84 months experience documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for z/OS DB2 in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
  • 84 months experience conducting capacity planning and forecasting to ensure system scalability in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment running z/OS DB2.
  • 84 months experience with z/OS DB2 Database Management Tools including Omegamon and Detector.
  • 84 months experience monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning measures for z/OS DB2 on an IBM z/OS mainframe.
Day-to-Day tasks
  • Responsible for analysis, support, development, reengineering, and Candidate will provide support for developers working in specific programming languages (COBOL, JCL, and SQL) using common z/OS facilities and products.
  • Provide performance analysis and tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, benchmark design.
  • Develop a streamlined process for z/OS software upgrades and maintenance.
  • Design methodologies for data synchronization from operational data stores to a data warehouse across multiple database platforms and varied DBMS'.
  • Planning, interfacing, and usage between z/OS and LUW DB2 application databases, data warehouse, Cognos, Identity Insight, and DataStage.
  • Act as liaison between Data Management, business customers, and application development staff to ensure that recommended performance considerations are included in reviews, designs, development, and implementation of applications.
  • Create cost effective and timely solutions to strategic business requirements utilizing database structures, application methodologies, and coding techniques.
