Description:

  • Outside Plant (OSP) Field Technician based in Central or Eastern Massachusetts. This role is responsible for supporting a wide range of telecommunications projects, including OSP Fibre, Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), circuits, 5G, HFC, Business-As-Usual (BAU) work, subsidised broadband initiatives, and network transformation orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field surveys to assess and document the current conditions of OSP infrastructure.
  • Interface with customers as needed to support ongoing project requirements and design validations.
  • Ensure timely completion of site surveys and fielding deliverables in accordance with customer deadlines and expectations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in the OSP field engineering, including field data collection and documentation.
  • Moderate to Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and digital data collection methods is a plus.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (preferred)
  • Experience in the Telecommunications Outside Plant engineering and/or construction industry is preferred.
  • Should have a good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with Verizon Telecom strongly preferred.
  • Should be proactive and a self-learner.
  • Possess strong professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyse data.
  • Should have a good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
  • Ability to be unsupervised at times and adhere to all Client Safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to perform Field Surveys in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk one or more miles daily.
