Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Manager Cloud Architecture and Engineering to lead the enterprise cloud strategy, architecture, and engineering efforts across the organization. This critical leadership role is responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms that support business transformation and digital innovation. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver high-performance cloud solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and execute a comprehensive cloud services strategy to support enterprise objectives, driving modernization, agility, and cost optimization.
  • Lead the adoption of cloud-native architectures and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Design scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions, focusing on high availability and disaster recovery.

Engineering & Delivery

  • Lead the implementation of cloud solutions in AWS and hybrid environments, including IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Oversee infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to integrate cloud services into development and operations workflows.

Governance & Security

  • Establish and enforce cloud governance frameworks covering technical standards, cost controls, and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to design and maintain secure identity, access, and data protection strategies in the cloud.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage internal engineering teams and third-party managed service providers in a hybrid delivery model.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and performance management for cloud engineering staff.
  • Serve as a key advisor and subject matter expert for business leaders and IT stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and maintain SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics to ensure cloud service reliability and performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution efforts for critical incidents and service disruptions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in cloud architecture and operations leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in AWS (Amazon Web Services), including hybrid cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing cloud-native solutions, automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing service delivery through both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in ITIL processes and project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or consumer products environment.
  • Working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong financial acumen related to cloud cost modeling and optimization.

Salary: $155,000- $165,000 per year ( depends on experience level)
