Job Details
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assembles custom built diesel and natural gas-powered electric generators and motorized equipment by interpreting blueprint specifications, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments. Responsible for consistent and efficient workmanship in a team-based environment, meeting customer deadlines with quality finished products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In-Shop and In-Field Responsibilities
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications, and plan manual assembly of custom generator units.
- Assemble systems, verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers both metric and standard measurements.
- Fasten and install generator components such as piping, fixtures, wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, and MIG welding equipment.
- Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
- Set and verify parts clearances to spec.
- Completes all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs.
- Completes all quality control paperwork per job as directed.
- Notifies production supervisor upon completion of assembly.
- Adheres to the assembly process in place while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.
