About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Web Application Developer with strong programming skills to join our Next-Gen Sequencing and Data Science team within Pfizer Vaccines R&D.
This position will contribute directly to the development of scientific web applications and computational platformsthat support viral and bacterial vaccine research programs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about problem-solving, process automation, and full-stack development, with an interest in AI/ML integration to enhance functionality and efficiency across data-driven research tools.

This is a hands-on coding role, requiring the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications while collaborating closely with scientists, data engineers, and software developers in a highly interdisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain web applications using the Django framework.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and industry standards.
Implement new features and resolve bugs in a timely and efficient manner.
Develop React-based front-end components and integrate them with backend APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, present prototypes, and incorporate feedback.
Integrate AI/ML tools and workflows into web applications to support data processing, analytics, and visualization.
Develop and maintain large-scale database platforms using SQL and MongoDB.
Participate in project meetings to discuss technical progress, challenges, and solutions.
Ensure application performance, security, and scalability.
Contribute to a collaborative, innovative, and learning-focused team environment.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of experience with Django or FastAPI frameworks.
2+ years of experience in React-based web development.
Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
Experience working with SQL and MongoDB databases.
Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Ability to write clean, efficient, and modular code.
Proficiency in AI/ML workflows and concepts and their application to web systems.
Basic understanding of biological concepts (DNA, RNA, proteins).
Strong problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated working example of a Django-based web application.
Strong data visualization and UI/UX design capabilities.
Experience in bioinformatics, data analysis, or related life sciences research.
Hands-on experience implementing AI/ML algorithms in production web applications.
