Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer for a remote contract role, with hands-on experience across AWS ECS, Aurora, DynamoDB, EMR, and Glue. The engineer will work on scalable cloud data and application infrastructure with a focus on performance, automation, and integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage containerized workloads using AWS ECS (Fargate or EC2)
  • Support data storage and access through Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and DynamoDB
  • Build and manage data pipelines and transformations using AWS Glue and EMR
  • Ensure secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure across environments
  • Automate deployments using CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resources

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of AWS cloud engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS ECS (Fargate or EC2 launch types)
  • Experience working with Aurora, DynamoDB, AWS Glue, and EMR
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
  • Familiarity with Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and networking
  • Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
