Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer for a remote contract role, with hands-on experience across AWS ECS, Aurora, DynamoDB, EMR, and Glue. The engineer will work on scalable cloud data and application infrastructure with a focus on performance, automation, and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Design and manage containerized workloads using AWS ECS (Fargate or EC2)
- Support data storage and access through Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and DynamoDB
- Build and manage data pipelines and transformations using AWS Glue and EMR
- Ensure secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure across environments
- Automate deployments using CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resources
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of AWS cloud engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS ECS (Fargate or EC2 launch types)
- Experience working with Aurora, DynamoDB, AWS Glue, and EMR
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
- Familiarity with Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and networking
- Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
