Description
We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator IV to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining complex IT systems, ensuring their reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to design, implement, and support critical infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain both physical and virtual IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Oversee system backups, recovery processes, and storage management to ensure data integrity and availability.
Monitor and analyze system performance logs to identify and resolve anomalies or technical issues.
Implement critical patches and updates to maintain system security and compliance with industry standards, including HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design and implement network and storage solutions.
Develop and enforce best practices for system infrastructure and configuration management.
Lead large-scale projects that span multiple technical disciplines, ensuring deliverables are met on time.
Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
Leverage advanced monitoring tools to track system health and generate KPI reports.
Troubleshoot complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions to enhance system functionality.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of experience.
Proven expertise in system administration, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of storage technologies, such as SAN (Storage Area Network), and backup solutions.
Experience with configuration management tools and implementing IT infrastructure best practices.
Familiarity with HIPAA-regulated environments and maintaining compliance with security standards.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
Proficiency in managing network design, performance tuning, and resolving complex technical issues.
Ability to analyze performance logs and create detailed KPI reports to support decision-making.
