Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Business Analyst (CMS Regulations / Risk) for a contract opportunity with one of our largest clients located in Detroit, MI!
Title: Business Analyst
Location: Detroit, MI 48226 (Remote with 1 day onsite/ week)
Duration: 5 Months
Role Type: W2 Contract Engagement
Engagement Description:
This engagement requires a highly skilled Risk Adjustment Business Analyst who can bridge regulatory requirements with operational execution across Medicare Advantage and other risk-bearing programs. The analyst will help ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, minimize operational risk, and contribute to the overall success of Risk Adjustment activities by the plan.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in risk adjustment), reviewing and translating regulatory requirements and helping the business area implement compliant and optimal solutions. Additionally, the Business Analyst will support industry level research to ensure that best practices are implemented that minimize risk, while maximizing health outcomes for the organization s members.
Success in this role demands cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This engagement directly supports our organization s ability to remain compliant, optimize RAF accuracy, and achieve sustainable reimbursement outcomes.
Top 3 Required Skills/Experience:
- Key technical skills include data analysis, understanding business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, etc., and knowledge of databases and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote) and working knowledge of SharePoint.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management aptitudes - The ability to identify problems, analyze their root causes, and propose effective solutions
Required Skills/Experience
- Two (2) to five (5) years experience in related field is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge/competency in the following areas: claims or inquiry processing experience preferred, analytical experience, ability to produce statistical information from conceptual needs, and working with PC application and/or mainframe systems preferred.
- Working demonstration of creating process models using tools like BPMN or Visio.
- Ability to lead and contribute to process improvement programs.
- Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of system design principles, data modeling, and the ability to document requirements to design and implement effective systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel.

- Strong attention to detail to ensure that requirements are captured correctly and that systems are designed to meet business needs.
Department Requirements
- Create and present reports and presentations to display operational data and proposed business changes
- Customer Service experience interfacing with internal and external customers
- Demonstrated project work/corporate work group experience (within the last year)
- Provide support to internal and external stakeholders by answering questions, supplying information, support of corporate tools, and training
- Document and assist with implementing standard policies and procedures
- Develop and document workflows
- Identify and or analyze business problems and develop recommendations for solutions
- Participate in systems testing
- Develop procedures/controls and provide recommendations for the ongoing improvement of the updated process
Preferred Skills/Experience :
- Knowledge of database concepts and SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Continuous Improvement Process education/training
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
