JOB DESCRIPTION - Product Owner

Position Summary:

As the Product Owner for the Drive Engagement Product team within Employee Benefits Solutions (EBS) Customer Experience, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the vision for customer engagement and decision support experiences that serve our EBS business. Working closely with your team, other Product Owners, business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners, you will deliver industry-leading solutions that enhance our customer experiences and fulfill strategic objectives. This position will have the opportunity to advance of employee benefits engagement tools and decision support capabilities that guide customers through their benefits choices, ensuring they choose the benefits that meet their needs.You will be part of a collaborative group of talented product professionals who deliver impact and value to EBS by providing creative, innovative solutions that drive revenue growth and retention. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, innovative thinking, and a commitment to consistently achieving outstanding results.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-In partnership with business and technology owners, create a compelling product vision for Drive Engagement and develop and execute a product roadmap focused on measurable outcomes, regularly sharing progress with stakeholders and the team.

-Define product KPIs, monitor and report on business and technology metrics/outcomes.

-Collaborate across Employee Benefits Solutions, Enterprise Technology, Operations, and external partners to elicit, analyze, and understand needs, constraints, and risks, aligning with organizational strategy and priorities.

-Collaborates with cross-functional teams, technical partners and product owners within your functional area.

-Engage and collaborate with teams and stakeholders to create and manage Agile artifacts (e.g., Product Roadmap, Backlog, Release Plan) and information needed for prioritization decision-making; regularly assess features, costs, and impact to determine whether and when to proceed.

-Transform business objectives and product strategies, together with the needs of partners, into specific actionable requirements for product agile teams.

-Drive day-to-day product management decisions by prioritizing and maintaining the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders and partners.

-Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders and partners, helping the business create requirements for changes and improvements.

Qualifications:

-Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to use data to inform decision-making.

-Leadership skills to gain credibility, garner respect, guide the maturity of a self-organizing team, and be assertive with business priorities and opposing viewpoints while adhering to Agile concepts and principles.

-Working knowledge of Agile practices, including iterative development, incremental delivery, backlog management, burn down metrics, velocity, and task definition.

-Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to connect and engage teams, facilitate discussion, advocate for the team, negotiate with business/corporate areas and partners, mentor/coach team members, and resolve conflict.

-Solid analytical skills, creative problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail.

-Ability to work with minimal direction, adapt to shifting priorities and schedules, handle multiple issues simultaneously, and manage stressful situations.

-Strong knowledge of technical concepts and architectural principles to drive scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with insurance products, employee benefits programs, or benefits technology.

-Experience with customer experience processes, customer decision support tools, self-service portals, or marketing communications.

-3+ years as a product owner with demonstrated business value and outcomes.
