Job Summary
Vanguard is seeking a talented UX Designer to join their digital product development team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing intuitive, user-centered experiences for enterprise applications and financial platforms. This role requires strong skills in UX research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and visual design within agile development environments.
Key Responsibilities
UX Research & Discovery
- Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to understand user needs and behavioral patterns.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights that inform design decisions.
- Develop personas, user journeys, task flows, and experience maps.
- Create low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for web and mobile products.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear, intuitive, user-friendly designs.
- Partner with product owners and business teams to define UX strategies aligned with project goals.
- Work with design systems (such as Vanguard s internal design system) to create consistent, accessible UI components.
- Deliver pixel-perfect mockups using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Ensure designs follow accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and support responsive layouts.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, QA, and architects.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups.
- Provide UX guidance during development to ensure design quality through final delivery.
- Plan, facilitate, and analyze usability tests to evaluate design effectiveness.
- Apply feedback from usability results, analytics, and stakeholder input to iterate and refine solutions.
- Advocate for the user throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain UX documentation including specifications, interactive prototypes, and design guidelines.
- Contribute to the evolution and expansion of design systems and UX standards within the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer, or Product Designer.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for complex digital products.
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, InVision).
- Experience in user research, usability testing, and interpreting user data.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, heuristics, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional, fast-paced agile environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial services or enterprise-level platforms.
- Knowledge of UI development basics (HTML/CSS) is a plus.
- Experience with design systems such as Material Design or internal enterprise systems.
