Job Details

Our client is seeking a Project Manager II who will manage all tasks and aspects throughout the project lifecycle to ensure they are completed on time and within scope and budget. This is a hybrid position 3 days/week onsite in Richmond, VA.

Contract date: 05/01/2024 - 04/30/2025 (1 year contract, Full time W2 position with full benefits package included!)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Define, document, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop project charter and work plan, tracking budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute standard project management artifacts (including but not limited to risk assessments, project charter, RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) matrix, communication plan, project schedule, status reports).
  • Ensure applicable project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Manage projects within the larger VITA procurement and project management governance processes.
  • Provide requirement elicitation, analysis, and documentation as needed.
  • Provide oversight to ensure projects are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the Agency.
  • Create and implement a communication plan.
  • Ensure relevant staff are informed of upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
  • Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of risks/issues and removal of barriers.
  • Performs financial and administrative functions to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement.
  • Provides detailed reports to stakeholders and agency management with respect to the status of the project and expenditures.
  • Facilitates project conference calls, status meetings, planning sessions, and provide for meeting notes.
  • Be a consultant to stakeholders and communicate project status throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Additional required job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of (4) years of experience in Project Planning/Execution/Reporting/Closing
  • Minimum of (4) years of experience in Problem Resolution/Critical Thinking
  • Minimum of (4) years of experience in Leading Workgroups, Defining Schedules/Milestones, Large System Implementation
  • Minimum of (4) years of experience with with Agile & Waterfall Methodologies
  • Minimum of (3) years of experience with VITA Procurement processes/regulations and experience with VITA PMD project standards/requirements - including VITA PMD QR is highly desired
  • Minimum of (3) years of experience with Requirements Elicitation/Documentation/Analysis and Systems/Integration/UAT Testing - including planning, execution, resolution, reporting is highly desired

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent Verbal/Written Communication
  • MS Office 365/MS Project
  • MS Azure DevOps
  • PMP Certification is highly desired*

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia
