Job title: COBOL Developer Programmer Analyst

Location: Austin, TX (Remote- Local to Texas only)

Duration: Long term

Scope/Description of Services

The Worker(s) will provide the following services:

Perform advanced automated systems development work as a member of the Maintenance and Operations team, participate in one or more projects concurrently. Responsible for activities during all phases of the system development life cycle including external customer service, analyzing and documenting requirements, coding, testing as well as resolving software, data, hardware and reporting problems and troubleshooting system issues for internal and external clients. Develop and test COBOL and JCL Applications that meet design specifications, including accessibility and usability requirements. Document current processes, create and review written specification additions/modifications and create test cases for defects involving new and modified program policies. Analyze, document, design, and develop logical, structured programs and systems appropriate to customer needs which are well-documented programs and that may be maintained by others. Test applications in accordance with agency standards. Ensure adherence to program documentation and procedural standards, and management goals and objectives. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations.

Required skills:

  • 8 years of experience in COBOL
  • 8 years of experience in GoAnywhere
  • 8 years of experience in JCL
  • 8 years of Experience in SQL, Stored Procedures
  • 8 years Working knowledge of scripting and batch processing in legacy and current technology
  • 8 years Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, practices and techniques of application programming and software design
  • 8 years of Ability to accurately test software applications using a data driven development approach
  • 8 years of Skill in solving problems; in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and in troubleshooting computer software systems

Preferred skills:

  • Texas Workforce Commission experience
