Job Details

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience with advanced knowledge of ITIL Configuration Management principles and best practices, including prior experience in developing and maintaining configuration management processes and policies.
  • 5 years of experience demonstrating excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • 5 years of experience supporting and maintaining CMDB platforms such as BMC Helix, ServiceNow, Atlassian, or similar tools.
  • 4 years of experience performing regular configuration audits to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the Configuration Management Plan and system objectives.
  • 4 years of experience verifying and auditing configuration statuses and assisting with configuration verification to ensure that Configuration Items (CIs) are consistent with their specifications and requirements.
  • 3 5 years of experience in a Configuration Manager role or a similar position, overseeing IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and standards.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the enterprise Configuration Management strategy in alignment with ITIL v4 best practices and business goals.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of the CMDB across complex hybrid environments (on-premise, cloud, containers).
  • Establish governance models and enforce compliance with CM policies across IT and business units.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate CMDB with other ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Asset) to enhance data consistency and reporting.
  • Drive automation of CM activities using discovery tools, APIs, and integrations to reduce manual efforts and maintain CMDB integrity.
  • Conduct executive-level reviews and present metrics on CMDB health, coverage, and compliance to IT leadership.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and audit teams to ensure CIs and dependencies meet compliance and security standards (HIPAA, NIST, etc.).
  • Provide direction and oversight for large-scale configuration audits, impact assessments, and change verifications.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members and contribute to organizational knowledge management and training.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new CM tools and methodologies to support innovation and scalability.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and organizational security policies.
