Position: Network Engineer

Location: Oakland, CA (On-site 50% in Oakland office, 50% in the field)

Pay: $120k to $140k/year

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in:

  • Full-stack network troubleshooting (OSI Layers 1 7)
  • Layer 1: fiber, copper, circuits, PoE, wireless, cellular
  • System administration: Windows Server, VMs, storage, Microsoft Domains

Education: Bachelor s degree in EE, CompE, CS, or related field preferred.

Conde Group is seeking a Network Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team! This role will assist with multi-year transportation projects involving a city-wide video and analytics network. This hands-on role includes installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced systems like IP cameras, video management systems, and virtual environments. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both in-office and in the field.

Job Description:

  • Monitor and assess the daily health of all network systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Support, design, administer, and troubleshoot integrated systems including Layer 2/3 industrial Ethernet switches, firewalls, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Manage data storage systems such as NAS and iSCSI for video recording, and maintain Video Management and Network Management Systems.
  • Configure and support virtual environments using Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, and Proxmox.
  • Operate and maintain IP surveillance systems including PTZ, dome, and LPR cameras, along with video walls and operator workstations.
  • Implement and manage AI-driven video analytics, such as License Plate Recognition (LPR) and Video Fire & Smoke Detection (VFSD).
  • Maintain wireless and microwave communication systems used in field deployments.
  • Conduct field installations, cabinet work, and physical site inspections, including work in elevated or confined spaces.
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configuration files, and redlined as-builts.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Regularly work on-site and be capable of lifting and transporting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong experience working directly with clients and contractors.
  • Experience managing computers, servers, and virtual machines.
  • Knowledge of system hardening, cybersecurity, and administration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Interest in industrial protocols and intelligent traffic systems.
  • Comfortable working outdoors, in traffic zones, and at heights.
  • Willingness to travel across the Bay Area.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
  • CompTIA A+, ITF+, Network+, Security+.
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA).
  • Windows OS, Linux/Unix.
  • VMware Certified Associate.
