General Description:

Performs highly advanced (senior-level) ETL development work as part of a team on the Data Conversion Project at ERS. ERS has embarked on a multi-year project to convert data from their legacy PeopleSoft system to a cloud solution. The ETL development work will be extracting data from an Oracle database and transforming/loading it to an in-house SQL Server database. Extensive T-SQL skills will be key to the process.

Essential Functions- Performs advanced ETL development work on data primarily residing in SQL Server
- Translates rules from PeopleSoft developers (Oracle) into efficient T-SQL scripts
- Troubleshoots, supports, and maintains ETL processes
- Designs, deploys, and manages standardized, centralized data sources
- Helps establish best practices for development, testing, migration, and error handling of ETL activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Other Duties and Responsibilities- May interact with outside vendors
Education/Special Requirements- Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or related business field
Experience and Training- 3 years hands-on experience in T-SQL and SSIS/SSMS development
- 3 years hands-on experience in ETL development
- 3 years hands-on experience moving and manipulating large data sets
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in health/life insurance, accounting, financials, or investment data related activities
- Experience with data tools (Visual Studio, SSIS, MSSQL)
- Experience with Azure and agile iterations
- Experience with ERP applications (PeopleSoft, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Applies critical thinking to all aspects of the job
- Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS or Finance packages preferred
- Experience with ERD Modeling & Maintenance
- Knowledge of RDBMS architecture and troubleshooting desirable
- Knowledge of data mining methods
