PL/SQL Developer
Location: Remote
Experience Level: 10+ years


About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain efficient database solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing complex queries, stored procedures, and packages, ensuring database performance and integrity, and collaborating with application teams to deliver reliable systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers

  • Write complex SQL queries for reporting and application support

  • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing for large datasets

  • Collaborate with business analysts, application developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, testing, and production environments

  • Ensure data security, consistency, and compliance with standards

  • Create and maintain documentation including ER diagrams, process flows, and data dictionaries


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL development

  • Proficiency in writing efficient queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers

  • Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, and debugging

  • Experience with Oracle database tools (SQL Developer, TOAD, SQL*Plus)

  • Knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and data modeling

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting and scheduling tools (Cron, Autosys)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle 12c/19c or later versions

  • Exposure to ETL tools, data warehousing, or BI reporting solutions

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN)

  • Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
