Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership - Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of industrial electrical engineers, supporting technical growth and project delivery.
- Technical Oversight - Provide expert direction on complex electrical system designs to ensure project success.
- Compliance & Quality - Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring company policies, quality, and best practices are upheld.
- Client Engagement - Act as a primary technical contact for clients, reviewing project needs, providing technical guidance, and building strong client relationships.
- Site Reviews - Conduct site visits and studies to validate design requirements and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Knowledge Development - Create white papers, technical documentation, and presentations; contribute thought leadership at conferences and industry events.
- Proposals & Collaboration - Partner with internal teams to prepare proposals and respond to RFPs.
- Mentorship - Train and mentor junior engineers to support their career growth.
- Project Management - Provide timely updates, ensure budgets/schedules are met, and manage overall project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license (minimum 12+ years required).
- 15+ years of related experience in electrical engineering, consulting, and design.
- Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices.
- Strong background in power utility projects (transmission, substations, distribution).
- Domestic and/or international travel as required (based on project demands).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience overseeing teams of electrical engineers.
- Experience with FEL, FEED, progressive design-build, and design-build delivery methods.
- Strong project budgeting and scheduling experience.
- Ability to obtain licensing in multiple states.
- Skilled at developing engineering estimates and maintaining client confidence.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Skills & Abilities
- Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices.
- Proficiency with power system studies, Microsoft Office software, and CADD (3D & 4D).
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations impacting electrical design.
- Ability to lead projects from design through completion while mentoring staff.
